The Lovely Bones. . .Again

Yes, I’m obsessed with this movie (coming out in 2009).  Peter Jackson is directing, so I have great faith that it will be lush, ominous, and beautifully shot.

They’re filming now:

I’m reading the book again, for the fourth time, and I’m finding it kind of maudlin.  This bodes well for translation into film: it tells me that the book is not too “literary” to be accessible.  Think about the best book-to-movie films you’ve ever seen.  They’re usually a bit explicit, emotionally speaking. 

I’m pretty much living for this movie.
